From left to right, top to bottom: right profile, slightly from above of man in a hat which is pulled down obscuring much of his face (pen and brown ink with brown wash over graphite underdrawing); left profile of bearded man's head tilted slightly downwards, collar of coat pulled up (pen and brown ink, brown wash, white highlights over graphite underdrawing); bearded, balding head from upper frontal position, slightly left (pen and brown ink, brown wash, white highlights over graphite underdrawing); left profile of male head, wearing a hat, with a ?staff resting on right shoulder (pen and brown ink with brown wash over graphite underdrawing).
