Plate. Hard-paste porcelain painted underglaze in blue. Circular with a sloping rim, shallow sides, and recessed base, the edge of which has been wiped free of glaze. In the middle there is a European country house flying a flag, perhaps Burghley House, in a landscape with stylised trees, and bushes on each side, a pheasant standing on the right, and another flying to the right overhead. On the sides there is a narrow border of paired scrolls, and on the edge of the rim, a European style border of scrolls, scrapwork, and foliated branches, with a narrow band round the edge.
