Description

Sampler, linen, embroidered with polychrome stranded cottons in cross, stem, chain, satin and lazy-daisy stitch; whipped stitches, laid and couched work and French knots. A repeat floral border encloses rectangular panels which include an alphabet, a flowerpot and bird, various flowers and branch motifs and short pattern bands.
