The cartoon appeared in the 'Sunday Times', 12 July 1970, and is a comment upon the sentences passed on Cambridge undergraduates the previous week at Hertford Assizes by Justice Melford Stevenson. The students were convicted as a result of the part they played in the Cambridge Green House Hotel riot, which took place in February 1970.
