Soucoupe à pied pour tasses à glace
Translated as: footed saucer for ice cream cups

Soft-paste porcelain tray for ice cups, painted in enamels and gilded with a floral spray, encircled by interlaced green ribbons and a garland of flowers.
Soft-paste porcelain decorated with bluish-green ground colour, painting in blue, green, yellow, pink, orange-red, mauve, and black enamels, and gilding. Circular with twelve-lobed, slightly raised edge, standing on a low foot with concave-curved, twelve-lobed sides.There is a hole for suspension inside the edge of the stand. In the centre of the top painted in polychrome is a small floral spray, including a rose, encircled by two gold-edged green ribbons, interlaced to form six ovals, around and in which is entwined a garland of flowers. The outer edge of the tray is green, with a scalloped gold line inside it, following the curves of the lobes and having a floriated loop at the intersection of each.

Soucoupes à pied were used as a stands for ice cream cups, or for dried fruits. This is probably one of eight soucoupes à pied costing 144 livres each from the service given to the Empress Maria-Theresa by Louis XV in 1758, the much of which is in the Hofburg, Vienna. The pieces in the service bear date letters for 1757 (D) and 1758 (E)
