Note

This edition of 320 copies is set in 12-point Monotype Caslon and printed at Whittington Court by John and Rosalind Randle and Miriam Maccgregor on Xerkall Halbmatt mould-made paper on a Wharfedale SW2 cylinder press. The text is keyboarded by Basil Wilks & cast by George Wiggall. The half-tones are printed by Adrian Lack at the Senecio Press, and the paper used on the bindings is marbled at Whittington by Colleen Gryspeerdt. The wood-and-perspex engravings in the bibliography are printed from the original blocks, and the other illustrations are printed from blocks made by Keene Engraving. The edition, with the exception of the five special copies (numbered i-v) bound by Paul Collet to a design by Richard Kennedy, is bound by Woolnough & Co., Wellingborough. 20 copies (numbered I-XX) are bound in full leather with a separate portfolio of Press ephemera, & 95 copies (numbered 1-95) are quarter-bound in vellum and Whittington marbled paper. These 120 copies each contain a set of tipped-in specimen pages, most of which are taken from the original printing. In addition, 200 copies (numbered 96-295) are quarter-bound in buckram and Whittington marbled papers, without the tipped-in pages. The Whittington cat is engraved by Hellmuth Weissenborn."--Colophon. This is copy no. 3 Quarter bound in vellum with marbled boards. Issued in slipcase illustrated with engraving on paper label.
