Compliments slip with ornamental border tipped in: "This complimentary copy is presented by the associates at the Press of David R. Godine, 1971". "This edition was printed by the Meriden Gravure Company, Meriden, Connecticut. The Stinehour Press, Lunenburg, Vermont, composed the text in Monotype Bembo. The paper for the 1,250 deluxe copies, a laid rag sheet prepared especially for this printing under the supervision of the Hale Paper Company, London, contains watermarks by Bram de Does. The remaining 5,000 copies have been printed on Mohawk Superfine, of which 2,500 hardcover and 2,500 were bound by Robert Burlen & Son of Boston. The book was designed, researched and edited by Lance Hidy"--t.p. verso. Museum has standard hardback edition. Bound in blue cloth with title gold stamped on spine and front cover; facsimiles of photographs inlaid on front cover. With illustrated dust-jacket.
