Bottle. Hard-paste porcelain with underglaze powder-blue ground and painted in famille verte enamels, and gilt. The slender, pear-shaped body resting on a low splayed foot and tapering towards the tall neck with a horizontal bulge beneath the flared rim, which is mounted in silver. The mottled, bright blue ground is reserved with four barbed quatrefoil panels round the widest part, alternately enclosing 'Antiques' and dense clusters of chrysanthemum growing from pierced rockwork and prunus beside bamboo; there are two smaller barbed quatrefoil vignettes above, one with a vase of peonies and the other with flowering sprays, beneath two fan-shaped vignettes on the shoulders, one with sprays of chrysanthemum and the other with dianthus growing behind rockwork. These are all picked out in bright famille verte enamels and reserved against gilt floral scrollwork, now barely visible. The base is white.
