Wedge-shaped brisé fan with ivory sticks, pierced, painted in red, green, slate blue, brown, black, and gold. Guards: plain ivory painted in brown, red, green and gold, the head strengthened with tortoiseshell. (20+2) Gold stringing. Rivet of brass ?.
Front: The decoration is arranged in four horizontal bands. 1. Geometrical motifs, pierced and painted red, green and gold. 2. A European outdoor scene in which two servants bring a pig or tiger to a pipe-smoking gentleman seated beside a standing gentleman who is extending his arm towards another servant, who carries a stick. On both sides there is a long-tailed exotic bird among flowers and foliage. 3.Three oval panels reserved in a red band, the centre oval is painted with a crab and a fish, the others with stylized plants. 4. Foliage and flowers. The area below the shoulder is undecorated.
Reverse: The same design reversed.
