Maker: Unknown
Straight steel double edged triangular blade, of heavy diamond section at the point, slight wings at the base of the blade, decorated with recessed panels at the forte leaving a three proud ribs. The blade is attached through a moulded knop to a facetted socket with a double incised moulding at the base, and the line of a braised join down one side. The socket retains traces of silver koftgari decoration, probably lines along the facets, though most of this has been lost in cleaning. The knop at the base of the blade was originally silvered also. The surface is stained and a little pitted
History note: From Ganjam. Probably from the Tanjore armoury, broken up in 1860 (see documentation Elgood 2004)
