Description

Ivory; fig-shaped bowl with slender handle and female term

Ivory; the fig-shaped bowl is incised on the back with two entwined flowers within a border of scrolls. The slender curved handle has a long rat-tail incised with an acanthus leaf. The finial is in the form of a female term. The bowl has probably been reduced in length, as the decorative border narrows then finishes before the lip.
