Rock crystal, silver and silver-gilt; rock crystal bowl with silver handle and silver-gilt finial of a man in armour holding a spear and shield
Rock crystal, silver and silver-gilt; the rock crystal bowl is fig-shaped. The silver handle is cylindrical and tapers towards the terminal which has a silver-gilt finial in the form of a man in armour holding a shield and spear. The shield is engraved with a possible bishop's mitre between the initials 'M' and 'A' beneath two quatrefoils.

Carving
: The rock crystal was carved. The silver handle was folded, and the seam down the side was soldered. The finial was cast, soldered to the handle and gilt. The hollow silver handle was glued to the short rock crystal stem. The decoration and the initals on the shield were engraved.
