Wood, silver and steel; the knife has a steel blade and a pistol grip wood handle set on each side with three silver bosses; the two-tined fork is similarly decorated.
Wood, silver and steel; the knife has a tapering steel blade which turns down towards the point; the pistol grip oval section handle is of wood. Each side of the handle is set with a row of three engraved silver bosses, the lowest one probably depicts a pair of crossed swords, the central one depicts a stylised flower, and the upper one bears the coat-of-arms of the Elector of Saxony impaling another, on a ground of small silver piqué work circles. The volute terminal is capped with silver, which is engraved with a flower. The broad silver ferrule is engraved with a pattern of lines. The fork has two long steel tines and a silver ferrule and wood handle, which are decorated similarly to that of the knife.
