Description

Silver, enamel and steel; the knife has a steel blade and a silver and enamel handle ; the two tined fork is similarly decorated

Silver, enamel and steel; the knife has a steel blade with parallel sides; the handle is rectangular in section and has has two enamelled scales held by a silver ferrule, terminal cap and mounts on the sides. The enamel has a white ground decorated with green and blue scrolls, circles and lozenges within borders of red dots. The silver mounts are engraved with borders of chevrons and hatched lines. The fork has two long steel tines and a similar handle. Above the blade of the knife and tines of the fork are gaps within the handles which allow the blade to fit into the fork's handle and vice versa, thereby interlocking the knife and fork, and making them safe for travelling.
