Description

White metal, parcel-gilt and steel; the knife with steel blade and white metal parcel-gilt handle with knopped terminal, the fork with two long tines and a similar handle; both fitting in a white metal sheath heavily embossed with scrolls

White metal, parcel-gilt and steel; the knife has steel blade which tapers to a pointed tip, and a crudely cast white metal handle which is circular in section and terminates in an ornate knop. The ribbed stem and knop are partially gilt. The fork has two long steel tines and a central very short wavy tine, and a handle similar to that of the knife. The white metal (silver) sheath is oval in section and curves slightly upward towards an octagonal knop. The sides are heavily chased and engraved with a pattern of scrolling foliage on a hatched ground.
