Description

Gilt metal and steel; the spoon and fork with gilt metal handles cast and chased with hunting scenes; the leather case with pull-off lid

Gilt metal and steel, tooled leather; the spoon (A) has an elongated oval gilt metal bowl; the stem is hinged with a sliding clasp; the flat handle is cast and chased with vignettes of a stag and bird on the front and two hounds on the back on a matted ground. The fork (B) has two long steel tines, which are hinged at right-angles to the pistol grip handle; pinned to the sides of the handle are two gilt metal scales which are cast and chased with vignettes of a stag hunt and a wild boar hunt. The case (C) has a pull-off lid, and is of leather with tooled decoration.
