Description

Hybrid hard-paste porcelain painted in enamels with two Chinese figures in a garden with a fence and a flower in a vase; inside border red with groups of four blue dots. Pattern no. 20.

Hybrid hard-paste porcelain, painted overglaze in blue, two shades of green, yellow dark puce, red, and black enamels. Circular with deep curved sides, standing on a footring. The exterior is decorated with a Chinese garden scene. Standing in front of a red fence is man wearing a long yellow gown with a blue collar and puce tie, holding a red sunshade, and a boy wearing yellow trousers, and a blue and puce tunic, who holds a red child's windmill in his left hand, and a flower on a stem in his right. On the left of the man is a flowering plant and to the right of the boy, a flower in a red vase. On the other side of the cup there is a plant growing on a small area of lawn. The bottom of the interior is decorated with a black and green a sprig, and round the rim is a border of puce scallops, a narrow red wavy line, and groups of four blue dots at regular intervals. Pattern no. 20.
