Verge repeating eight day coach watch in silver case.

MOVEMENT: Full plate movement engraved 'Thomas Windmills LONDON 7303'. Balance cock with winged table pierced and engraved, mask at neck, asymmetrical foot pierced and engraved. Brass balance. Pierced and engraved slide plate with large silver regulation dial with radial Roman numbers I to VI. Stop work for alarm with steel disc which can be set for three or four turns. Rectangular fusee iron post. Case bolt with vertical pierced end and foot mounted on the brass edge. Alarm and repeating barrels engraved. Pillar plate with five turned baluster pillars, bulbous ring near plate. Fusee and chain, barrel with one lip, set-up click under barrel. Short train. Verge escapement. Alarm train of five wheels with depthing pinion at end. Anti-clockwise train, clockwise hammer. Runners with five wheels and depthing pinion at end.

REPEATING WORK: Quarter work with chain pull. All-or-nothing lever movement by tilt of hour snail.

BRASS EDGE: Four turned bulbous pillars, repeating pull through block secured by two screws, wheat ear engraving around dial.

DIAL: Silver champleve with 5 minute cushions, ladder minute ring with arrows at the 5 mins. Radial Roman chapters with diamond engraved half-hour marks. Winding hole at 3.45, alarm winding hole at 9 o'clock and alarm setting hole at 12 o'clock, matt background. Central silver alarm set dial, fixed by three screws, radial Arabic hours in cushions, ladder quarter ring, arrows at hours, matt centre with small chased central decoration.

HANDS: Blued steel hour hand pierced with long tail, indicating alarm setting, minute hand blued steel straight with pierced inner portion.

BELL: Inside scratched 'j73'.

CASE: Silver, body with pierced sides between four repousse panels representing four Aesops' Fables. Back plain. Bezel and edge of case with engraved border. Repeat pull at 6.30. Inside stamped with maker's mark incuse 'SI IL' with pellet between. Body, next to repeat pull on bezel flat, stamped '20'. Bezel was split, now brazed. Short pendant, stirrup bow.
