Description

Lead-glass engraved with hops and barley, a bird in flight, and initials AB; base star cut

Clear lead-glass with wheel-engraved decoration. Of ovoid shape with a projecting lip, applied handle with a slight kick at the lower end, and a circular foot. On the front are the engraved script initials AB below joined sprays of hops (right) and barley (left). Below the initials there is a small bird holding a twig in its beak hovering over two fern fronds. On either side of the neck there are bunches of three fern fronds. The underside of the foot is cut with a star with sixteen rays.
