Valentine card

Lace-paper with a central gilded lace-paper frame with oval-window inside which is a lithographed scene of flowers and a locked book (bible?) (The same image on embossed paper is seen in P.14343-R-31). Scraps of lithographic flowers and silver paper foliage are affixed at upper and lower centre. The latter with a motto: 'Never forget me'. Inside the card is a handwritten inscription: 'You shy little thing / you ought always to sing / 'Hark the herald' at once, when desired: / never make up a fuss / you sly little puss / In that, you know, won't be admired / Now guess if you can / the naughty young man / who sends you this Valentine gay - ...'.
