Valentine card
Publisher: Unknown
Chromolithograph of a kingfisher diving into water beside a white water lily within a lace-paper frame mounted with paper springs onto pink paper with an embossed 'pleated' border. Embossed scraps with silver detailing of Cupid in a boat and a sprig of foliage at lower centre. A chromolithographed motto affixed to the lower centre of the lace-paper frame: FORGET ME NOT. The inside pages are blank. The inside of the card is blank. This card was produced in a variety of different coloured papers (blue, yellow, green) with alternative images (swan and hummingbird), scraps and mottoes. The album P.14343-R contains a number of cards from the same series, all mounted together. See P.14343-R-90, P.14343-R-92; P.14343-R-93, P.14343-R-94 and P.14343-R-95. A loose card, P.14403-R was probably also originally contained in this album.
