Valentine card
Publisher: Unknown
Silver lace-paper frame, with green metallic and blue printed detail on leaves and morning glory flowers, mounted on paper springs onto a lace-paper backing. At the centre of the frame within an oval-shaped window is a collage of a glazed lithographed paper cut-out of woodland flowers and ferns and a Baxter type cut-out of a pair of children (superimposed against the flowers so as to appear miniature), the boy carries a large hoop (presumably a wedding ring) and the girl a pot of pink roses. At lower centre is a small oval-shaped panel within the lace-paper frame bearing a printed verse: "Oh may thy heart / In love's full joy, / the passing hours / of life's employ."
