Valentine card
Publisher: J.L. Marks
Embossed paper backing and white embossed card with a gilt-edged border mounted onto it with paper springs. A chinese fan shaped cut-out featuring a lithograph of a young girl with a lace collar and roses and daisies on heavily embossed paper. The 'fan' lifts up to reveal a printed verse: "Rememberance [sic] / May this remembrance / kind and true - convey / my hearts own wish to you ...". A collage of green cotton leaves and a paper cut-out of red roses at lower centre. A cut-out on embossed paper of a pansy affixed at upper centre. The inside of the card is blank. MARKS (probably J.L. Marks) blind-embossed at the centre of the embossed backing paper (visible from the verso).
