Valentine card
Publisher: Unknown
Heavily embossed lace-paper in a design consisting of a series of roundels containing various scenes (courting couple, deer, cattle, couple outside a church) entwined with acanthus leaves and flowers. The paper is hand-coloured and the backing paper has been entirely coloured in burgundy-toned ink. A central, hand-coloured panel of pale pink is decorated with a gold tinsel urn holding a collage of embossed cut-paper foliage and flowers. Above are small cut-outs of a dove and a heart mounted on a fluted column.
