Valentine card
Publisher: Kershaw, George
Lace-paper with a central, oval window containing a cut-out, hand-painted and varnished drawing of a thatched cottage (presumably executed by the sender). There is a collage of cut-paper flowers and fruit around the door and a pair of cut-paper, hand-coloured birds holding printed scrolls in their beaks: "Can you tell me how to build a happy home" / "How to build a happy home / Let integrity be the architect / tidiness the upholsterer ...". The inside of the card is blank. KERSHAW & SON blind-embossed along the spine.
