Valentine card
Publisher: Unknown
A large Valentine of white wove paper with an embossed design of lyres and sheets of music in each corner, joined together with feathery leaves and swags of flowers. At the centre is a bouquet of flowers in a blue and white vase. A lithographed design of stalks and leaves in green ink is decorated with several printed cut-paper flowers and fabric leaves. The vase is a printed cut out with a red handle hand coloured onto the paper. A handwritten verse in black ink arranged around it: "Is it weakness thus to dwell / on passion that I dare not tell / such weakness ever will be mine / in thee my dearest Valentine". The inside of the card is blank.
