Valentine card
Publisher: Meek, George
Embossed paper stamped MEEK (centre panel viewed from verso) with two layers of lace-paper, a frame and a gate-house design, attached with paper springs. The lace-paper of the gatehouse is stamped MULLORD 562 and MULLORD 563 at lower left and right. Chromolithographed scraps and fabric leaves, some with silver thread, are attached to the lace-paper frame and around the gatehouse. A motto below: REMEMBER ME. The gate is opened with silk ribbon to reveal a chromolithographed spray of flowers. This card was included in the exhibition of valentine cards, _For ever thine: the nineteenth century valentine_, held in the Charrington Print Room at the Fitzwilliam Museum in 1995, no. 55.
