Valentine card
Publisher: Dobbs, Henry
4to-size white lace-paper with inner 'frame' of embossed lace with gold background and central collage of hand-coloured cut-paper flowers, foliage and a gilded wreath mounted onto a white silk panel. Hand-written verse in blue ink at upper and lower centre: "Do'st ask how long my love shall stay / when all that's new is past? ...". DOBBS BAI[LEY] stamped at lower centre. The inside pages are blank. The card has previously been folded. See also P.14410-R-47, which is another Dobbs Bailey card with the same embossed inner 'frame' with gold background. Graphite inscription on the album leaf: "1853-73".
