Description

32mo-size white lace-paper with central oval-shaped lattice-style 'shutters' incorporating an embossed and hand-coloured bunch of blue flowers. The doors open to reveal an inscription in blue ink: "To be an old maid". A cut-paper scroll with gilt detail and hand-written inscription affixed at lower centre: "The Dread of / all Young Ladies". An inscription in graphite at lower right: "434". The front paper is adhered to the back paper.
