Valentine card

4to-size white lace-paper with central net blind decorated with a collage of cut-paper and hand-coloured ivy leaves in an upward curve. The net blind gives a view through to lace-paper backing with central oval-shaped panel featuring an etched and hand-coloured scene of a man helping a bonneted woman over a stile, a church in the background on the right and handwritten inscription below: "Always happy to give / you a hand". The scene incorporates a collage of cut-paper flowers and leaves to describe a tree, grass and rosebush. The panel is framed by gilt embossed cut-paper flower garlands arranged in an upward curve.
