Valentine card

Embossed card with hand-coloured edge of dark blue and a narrow frame of silver lace-paper mounted on paper springs around a central oval window with a rice-paper blind. A chromolithographed scrap of Cupid is affixed to the frame at upper centre and a design of flowers in an urn is mounted onto the rice-paper blind as a collage of green and silver lace-paper, cut-paper foliage and chromolithographed flower scrap (a paper spring attached behind). A scrap of a duck swimming on water with the printed motto: "My darling hope." is affixed at lower centre. The inside pages are blank.
