Valentine card
Publisher: Mossman, David (paper manufacturer and embosser)
Embossed lace-paper with a frame of silver lace-paper edged with real embroidered lace mounted on paper springs. A central oval window within the frame is bordered with chromolithographed ivy leaves and the frame decorated with scraps of lily of the valley, Cupid on a rice-paper cloud and Cupid in a boat with the printed motto: HOPE. At the centre of the window is a collage of fabric and silver metallic leaves and flowers with wax stamens around a chromolithographed bouquet of flowers. MOSSMAN stamped along the spine at centre left. The inside pages are blank.
