Valentine card

Gilded cameo-embossed lace-paper with a design of drapes to left and right and two circular windows with scene of artist and model at lower centre, green slip paper behind and white silk blind at upper centre mounted with a collage of fabric and cut-paper flowers and leaves and real fern leaves. A collage of white and purple mottled fabric leaves and cut-paper, hand-coloured flowers at the centre. At upper centre, a sun-shaped medallion of embossed purple paper with green centre printed in gold ink: 'A / Love Token / From' and hand-written in black ink below (presumably by the sender): 'George'. The front-paper is partially adhered to the back paper. An inscription in graphite on the inside right-hand page at upper right: '1/' [1 shilling].
