To the One I Love Valentine card
Publisher: Unknown
Embossed paper with dark blue printed edge mounted with gilt lace-paper panel on paper springs which is decorated with a collage of white satin leaves and scrap with book and motto: 'Oh Remember me'. A flower scrap at the centre lifts up to reveal a printed verse: 'To the / One I Love / Dearest accept this / offering, - From a heart / that's truly thine ...'. The back paper is missing. This valentine is listed in a hand-written MS by second-hand bookseller, R.S. Frampton as 'To the one I Love' and priced at 4/6 [4 shillings and sixpence]. Glaisher bought many valentines from R.S. Frampton, especially between 1923 and 1925. P.14413-R-26 is listed with other cards from album P.14413-R, although much of the Frampton MS relates to cards that are contained in album P.14416-R. For the Frampton MS, see P.14416-R-L1.
