Valentine card

Small 64mo embossed white wove paper with shaped edges hand-coloured in red. Mounted with an embossed silver frame and purple and gilt-framed shield with printed motto: 'ILL [sic] EVER / CONSECRATE MY / HEART TO THEE FAIREST / OF THE FAIR'. The interior is blank. The same shape, same embossing die and same red, hand-coloured edges as nos. 51, 53 and 57. Same embossed silver frame as used in nos. 51 and 57. One of 12 small valentines, mainly unknown makers, mounted as a group across two leaves of album P.14413-R.
