Valentine card
Publisher: Meek, George
Silvered, embossed lace-paper with a central circular panel mounted with an ill-fitting chromolithograph of pink and red anenome flowers. A silver framed motto affixed at centre right: 'HOPE'. 'MEEK' stamped onto the central panel (viewed from the verso). A chromolithographed postcard adhered to the inside right-hand page with an image of pink roses, bulrushes and trees and poem entitled, 'TO MY VALENTINE / Hark the birds are singing / Love songs in the grove / Sweet thoughts to me bringing / Of my absent love - / Ah! be mine - as I am thine / Ever faithful Valentine'. Initialled below 'J.G.' [possibly Julia Goddard].
