White lace-paper (landscape orientation) with central oval window and blind of white silk mounted with a scrap of forget-me-nots and pink roses in three entwined circlets with part of a printed motto inside each: 'I will / be true / to thee'. On the inside right-hand page, a hand-written, possibly self-composed, verse in black ink: 'Not for ever / How sharp a pang what / tongue can tell / it costs to breathe this / world farewell / But _hope_ can fully / soothe our pain / By whispering ye shall / meet again'.
