To my Mother Valentine card
Publisher: Unknown
Envelope' style valentine of white wove paper edged with four triangular flaps of lace-paper mounted in the 'open' position. At the centre are two doors of silver embossed lace-paper with concertina folds which open out to reveal a central oval panel of white coated card with diagonal striations and lithographed verse: 'To my Mother / With thee, dear Mother, though I roam / This lone, cold world from shore to shore, / My heart can never find a home / Like that it loved with thee of yore ...'. The doors are decorated with a heart-shaped flower garland scrap. A flower scrap with the motto: 'Thine in love', is mounted on the inside of the upper centre lace-paper flap.
