Description

Large 4to-size cream embossed paper with a collage of cut-paper lithographed and hand-coloured flowers with textile leaves additional stencilled leaves. At upper centre, two silver paper birds sit on a stencilled garland threaded with a gilt paper wedding ring. Above is a hand-written verse in red ink: 'This Token from my heart approve / To deck the Altar of our Love!'. 'DOBBS' stamped at lower centre. Hand-written inscriptions in graphite at upper left in unknown hand (although probably a dealer): 'L' and '1830 [underlined]'. The paper has been folded several times. The back paper is missing.
