Valentine card
Publisher: Unknown
White wove paper with an embossed outer border. At the centre is a panel of white paper (cut down on all sides) with an embossed design of flowers and leaves. A smaller panel of pink coated card is inserted at the centre and is stencilled with stems and leaves and applied with a large, cut-paper yellow lily with lithographed detail in red ink. Two stencilled sprays of leafy branches in blue ink at upper and lower centre. A silver paper ornament of a laurel wreath is affixed at upper centre. The interior is blank. Although the paper is unstamped, elements in the design of this card (notably the sprays of leafy branches in blue ink) are found on other cards mounted in the same album. See P.14414-R-48 and P.14414-R-55. P.14414-R-48 is stamped with the George Kershaw stamp and so it seems quite likely that P.14414-R-61 is also by Kershaw.
