Description

A large 4to-size valentine of embossed silver lace-paper with a central white wove paper panel framed with silver lace-paper containing a printed message on white silk: 'FROM ONE WHO LOVES YOU' and a printed motto on paper: 'CONSTANT / TO / THEE'. 'MEEK' is stamped on the white wove paper panel at lower centre. The panel operates as a door and is hinged at the left side and opens at the right to reveal a larger white silk panel which is hand-painted with purple flowers and a butterfly. The embossed silver lace-paper is decorated at upper and lower centre with small cut-paper lithographs of putti in blue and pink. The embossed silver lace-paper is mounted with paper springs onto a sheet of white wove paper with champfered corners, which is pasted to the album leaf along the left edge.
