Description

A small, heart-shaped valentine with an upper layer of embossed and gilded paper with small, circular lace panels and flower design around the upper half. A central window has a rice-paper blind which is decorated with a paper scroll printed in gold ink with the motto: 'Sincerity and Love'. At lower centre is a collage of fabric leaves and hand-coloured, embossed paper flowers with a white embossed paper putti/cupids ornament. The upper, gilded layer is attached to white, embossed paper of the same design with paper springs. However, the two layers are now largely adhered together, so the 'raised' effect can no longer be achieved.
