Valentine card

A 'raised' valentine of white lace-paper with applied hand-coloured silver lace-paper at each corner. A smaller panel is mounted on paper springs at the centre and decorated with copper metallic flowers at each corner. A central oval window contains a silk panel printed with a verse: 'There are / none of beauty's / daughters, / With a magic like / thee; / And like music on / the waters / Is thy sweet / voice to me.'. The panel is framed with hand-coloured silver lace-paper and with a second outer frame of hand-coloured silver lace-paper which is mounted on paper springs. The front of lace-paper is attached to the white wove back paper with two silver pins. 'G.F. MEEK' is stamped along the spine at centre left.
