A Wish Valentine card
Publisher: Unknown
A single sheet of lozenge-shaped blue lithographed paper with a scalloped edge and white embossed pattern resembling lace. At the centre is a frame of hand-coloured, grey (an attempt at silver?) lace-paper which is mounted on paper springs and trimmed around the interior with yellow silk fringing. It is decorated on all four sides with flower scraps. At the centre is a piece of hand-coloured grey lace-paper containing an oval panel of padded white silk printed in purple ink with a verse: 'A WISH / May every new day dawn on / thee, / Always with added grace; / And never write a line of care / On thy beloved face!'.
