Description

Silver, cameo-embossed lace-paper with a rural scene of a windmill on the left and peasant couple on the right. A central roundel with embossed border and silver lace-paper edging contains a damaged rice-paper blind with the remains of a stencilled design of flowers and leaves. A cut-paper motto on hand-coloured blue paper with gold lithographed text is affixed at upper centre: 'I / CANNOT / CHANGE'. The front paper is adhered to the back. A hand-written inscription in graphite on the album leaf above: 'G'. The same letter in the same hand is written above no. 8 in the same album.
