Valentine card

White and silver embossed lace-paper front with a design of flowers and latticework. A central, oval-shaped window contains a chromolithographed bouquet of flowers against a cream background. A cut-paper lithographed bird in blue and pink is affixed at upper centre. An oval medallion with a silver frame affixed at lower centre contains a lithographed verse in blue ink: 'Oh! smile upon me / That I may, / Appoint the happy / Wedding-day.'. The lace-paper front is without a back paper and is pasted directly onto the album leaf.
