Love's Picture Gallery Valentine card

A lace-paper valentine with a second layer of gilt and lilac lace-paper mounted onto paper springs at the centre. The lilac central panel is mounted with three, overlapping miniature lithographic reproductions of a finished drawing or oil painting, two of which are pasted to enable lifting up, with lithographed message in gothic script: 'LOVE'S / Picture Gallery. / [image after a drawing of Cupid] 'YOUR MAMMA' / [image after an oil painting of dogs] 'OR ME' / [image after an oil painting of terriers chasing a rat] / WHICH DO YOU / LIKE BEST? / Send me word.'. A collage of frosted fabric leaves and a flower scrap is affixed at lower centre. When opened, an inscription in graphite (presumably written by the sender) on the verso of the lilac and gilt card can be seen through an oval window: 'Do you love me'. 'MOSSMAN' embossed on the recto at centre left.
