Valentine card

A valentine of white lace-paper with central roundel opening out into concertinaed three-dimensional scenes with hand-coloured lithography. A central oval panel is decorated with hand-coloured cut-paper pink and yellow flowers with hand-painted leaves and hand-written verse in ink above and below a central embossed gold and blue roundel with silver cupid ornament affixed at the centre: 'Thou art / so b[.....] around my heart / That it were worse / than death to part'. The roundel can be pulled upwards to reveal three folded, lithographed and hand-coloured woodland scenes featuring firstly, a pair of doves, secondly a young woman and old woman (fortune-teller?) and thirdly, a lake with church and boat containing a gentleman. The interior is blank.
