Remember Me Valentine card

A valentine, apparently homemade, comprising four silver cameo-embossed lace-paper hearts, each featuring a different design and different central motto or verse and mounted onto a sheet of yellow paper which is folded into quarters. The top left design of flowers and two birds with central window containing a printed woodblock wreath and message: 'From / GLASGOW', stamped in green, blue and red. The top right design of putti and a church has a central window containing a chromolithograph of roses with motto: 'A TOKEN OF AFFECTION'. The lower left design of putti and birds has a central window containing a chromolithograph of red flowers and motto: 'AFFECTION'. The lower right design of putti has a central window containing a panel of white silk printed with a titled verse: 'Remember / Me / Oh, do not think, though far away, - Thou / art forgot by me! - Ah! / no; believe there's not a / day - But I remember thee. / - My silence, pray, do not / blame, - Nor think un- / kind of me; - Believe / my friendship just the / same; I still remem- /ber thee.'. The paper is inscribed with a price in graphite at lower right: '2/6 [2 shillings and sixpence]'.
