Description

Netsuke: katabori: Sleeping Shojo. Wood finely carved and stained. Figure of Shojo curled up and sleeping, her head and hands resting on a double gourd flask, the stalk forming the himotoshi. Details of her hair and costume finely incised.

History note: H.S. Reitlinger (d.1950); the Reitlinger Trust, Maidenhead, from which transferred in 1991.
